日清戦争が始まった。りん（見上愛）の元に、多江（生田絵梨花）が広島の病院で軍人の看護に苦戦しているという手紙が届く。だが、捨松（多部未華子）が広島の病院へ慰問に行くことになり、その状況は変わり始めていく。一方、直美（上坂樹里）が妊娠をしたことを知り、小川（甲斐翔真）は喜ぶ。直美は、無償看護をしながら、お腹の中で我が子を育てていた。小川は子どもの名前を考え始めるのだったが…。
