“Shin Bijo no Kyojintachi” (“New Giants of Beauty”) is a Japanese art and culture documentary program that introduces famous artworks, architecture, and cultural masterpieces from Japan and around the world. 京都巡りの“足”の定番・嵐電。２４年ぶりに登場した最新車両はレトロでモダンな内装と柔らかな曲線のシルエット。手がけたのはデザイナーの鈴木スバルさん。新しい車両の開発にあたり京都中を歩いて回り、神社仏閣が並ぶ通りや令和の街並みのどちらにも似合う姿を考え出したと言います。特にこだわったのが正面の美しい曲面。実に繊細な作業で生み出されていました。嵐電の沿線には世界遺産や歴史的な名所がズラリ！
それを巡りながら美しいデザイン誕生の秘密を紐解いていきます。今回は新幹線大好きな俳優の松井玲奈さんが初登場！ゆっくりのんびり京巡り。
