Ayumi Orii is a Japanese actress, singer, and former idol, known as one of the original 1st generation members of AKB48. She joined in 2005 and was a central figure during the group’s early theater era, even serving as the captain of Team A, where she helped lead and support younger members. Orii was also selected for early senbatsu lineups and played an important role in shaping AKB48’s initial identity. She graduated in 2007, before the group’s explosive rise in popularity, but remained one of the most recognizable figures from its founding period. After leaving AKB48, she transitioned into acting and stage work, appearing in various theater productions and continuing her career in the entertainment industry with a focus on acting.
