Natsumi Hirajima is a Japanese former idol, actress, and television personality, known as a 1st generation member of AKB48. She joined the group in 2005 and was active during its early theater era, contributing to performances that helped establish AKB48 in its formative years. Hirajima became a recognizable early member, appearing in variety programs as the group’s popularity began to grow. In 2012, she left AKB48 following a controversy involving a violation of the group’s internal “no dating” rule, which led to her dismissal from the group. After her departure, she continued her career in entertainment as an actress and gravure talent, appearing in television and other media, and successfully rebuilt her career outside of her original idol image.
